Accessibility
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Our goal
We want everyone to be able to use MonuDesk: the monument dealers who run their shop on it, and the families who follow their order, design a stone or send a request through a dealer's website.
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA for:
- this website, monudesk.com
- the MonuDesk app for dealers
- the customer portal, where families follow their order
- the tools dealers add to their own website: the request form and the 3D designer, MonuStudio
What we have done so far
On October 6, 2026 we checked this website and the public pages of the app with automated tests and by hand, using only a keyboard. On this website we then:
- made the rows of cards that scroll sideways reachable with the keyboard and the arrow keys
- gave the rows of cards that move on their own a pause button, which shows when you point at them or reach them with the keyboard
- made the moving logo strip stop while you point at it or reach it with the keyboard; Enter, Space or a click stops or restarts it
- made the cards and the logo strip stay still when your device asks for reduced motion
- added a High contrast mode, described below
- made the keyboard focus outline visible on the dark and blue sections
- fixed the structure of a comparison list so screen readers read it correctly
- kept the hidden parts of the help chat out of the keyboard order
High contrast
At the bottom of every page, next to "Accessibility statement", there is a "High contrast" button. It switches this website to darker colors wherever text is too light to read easily. It also turns on by itself when your device is set to increase contrast. Your choice is saved in this browser, and the same button turns it off again.
Known limitations
In the default look, some text is lighter than WCAG asks for. High contrast fixes it.
We have not finished a full review of the app, the customer portal and the website tools yet. Our first checks found issues there, and we are fixing them next, starting with the parts families use.
Some parts come from other companies, such as the help chat and the booking calendar. When we find a barrier in them, we report it to them.
